Art & Marvelous Pieces For a Beautiful Life
Eli Kobeli (1932 - 1999) Pallet Knife Painting with Acrylic on Board, Signed & Framed. Measuring 60cm x 60cm (without the frame) - STC
This masterful work captures a poignant moment, the scene depicts a disheveled figure of a drunken man reclining. His posture suggest a life of hardships and struggles. Beside him rests an empty bottle, a silent witness to his inner turmoil.
The true brilliance of the painting lies in the artist’s careful attention to detail. Through the skillful layering of textured strokes, Kobeli breathes new life into this moment of vulnerability. It is a visual narrative that resonates with the viewer, prompting contemplation on the human condition and the potential for healing and redemption amid life’s brokenness.
A great investment piece. Eli Kobeli was a Postwar & Contemporary painter born in 1932, in Kroonstad, South Africa and passed away in 1999. He lived in Kroonstad, Alexandra and Soweto. Some refer to him as the ‘Chagall of Soweto’
There are signs of meticulous repair as the chunky layers of acrylic have cracked over time.
