Lady Playing a String Instrument - Oil on Canvas - Unattributed (Image 1m x 61cm)
Description
The painting is an evocative oil on canvas piece measuring 1 meter by 61 centimeters, featuring a woman playing a string instrument. The woman is depicted in a state of partial nudity, with a delicate cloth draped modestly across her lap, adding a touch of modesty and elegance. Her posture is poised and graceful, wholly absorbed in her music-making, which imparts a sense of tranquility and intimacy to the scene. The use of rich, oil paints adds depth and realism to her form and the instrument, while the background remains subtly understated, drawing the viewer’s attention to the central music instrument.
