Description
The first vase is crafted from an 18-pound artillery shell casing, the base is engraved with markings, The markings on the casing include "18 PR" (18 pounder), "GF", "12/15" (likely December 1915), "EW, " and "LOTZ". These markings provide information about the type of shell, manufacturer, and date of production, reflecting the history of its wartime origin. The second vase is made from a high-caliber round, with the top of the casing skillfully split into four sections to form legs, giving it a unique, sturdy base. Both pieces stand as striking examples of wartime ingenuity, transforming instruments of destruction into works of art and remembrance.
