Description
A magnificent and beautifully preserved vintage Victorian style hall stand in very good condition, comprising everything one could wish for in a period entrance hall piece. The central mirror is framed by the wooden frame, a distinctive and highly characteristic Victorian design feature. It features a row of five colorful floral-patterned ceramic tiles above a storage compartment, that immediately elevates this beyond a purely functional item into a piece of genuine decorative importance. Four hooks for coats and hats, brass umbrella drip trays. This hall stand is as useful today as it was in its Victorian heyday. Victorian hall stands of this completeness and quality are among the most passionately sought after antique furniture pieces at South African household auctions, attracting serious collectors, heritage home owners and interior designers who understand the rarity and enduring appeal of a genuinely fine Victorian hall stand in very good condition. A truly outstanding and irreplaceable entrance hall piece. Sold as-is, very good condition, viewing strongly recommended
