Lot 55:
A Pair of Victorian Style Carved Mahogany Pedestal Side Tables
Description
A pair of stained mahogany tripod pedestal side tables, also known as wine tables. Each table features a circular solid wood top with a moulded bullnose edge. The central pedestal is elaborately decorated with a bulbous acanthus leaf carving. The tripod base consists of three cabriole legs, heavily ornamented with foliate and scrollwork carvings, terminating in scrolled feet. The construction shows the tops are secured to the pedestals via circular wooden cleats using four slot-head screws. No maker’s marks, labels, or stamps are visible on the underside or the body of the tables.
Vintage pieces that could do with minor refurbishment.
