Vintage Mahogany Stained Roll Top Pedestal Desk
Description
A vintage twin-pedestal roll top desk constructed from mahogany-stained hardwood. The upper section features a curved S-shaped tambour front composed of horizontal wooden slats, equipped with two circular brass knobs and a central brass-lined escutcheon. Below the roll top, the base comprises a central kneehole with a wide frieze drawer, flanked by two pedestals. The left pedestal contains three drawers, while the right pedestal contains two drawers, including a deeper double-fronted filing drawer at the base. Each drawer is fitted with decorative cast brass swan-neck bail handles mounted on ornate openwork backplates. The desk is finished with a traditional Georgian revival aesthetic, featuring panelled sides and a moulded plinth base. No maker’s marks, labels, or stamps are visible on the exterior surfaces or within the provided close-up images.
