Lot 74:
Mid-20th Century Brass Pedestal Bowl with Figural Swan/Goose Support
Description
Believed to be a Mottahedeh vintage brass bowl. This decorative pedestal centerpiece is constructed from cast and formed brass. The object features a shallow, lobed bowl with a shaped rim, supported by a cast figural stem in the form of a swan with outstretched wings. The bird stands upon a circular, domed base which is decorated with a cast hammered-effect texture and finished with a stepped edge. The bowl shows a smooth, polished interior finish, while the exterior and support display the textural qualities of the casting process. There are no maker’s marks, hallmarks, or labels visible on the exterior surfaces of the piece.
