Lot 40:
Limited Edition Framed Graphite Portrait Print of Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela | Signed by Artist Craig Ivor | No. 71/500 | January 2015 | South African Collector's Art
Description
A significant and deeply meaningful framed limited edition graphite portrait print of Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, signed by artist Craig Ivor in January 2015 and numbered 71 from a total edition of 500, a low edition number that places this among the earlier and more desirable prints in the series. Nelson Mandela portraits are among the most collected and cherished South African art subjects in the world, and a signed and numbered limited edition graphite portrait of this quality and provenance carries genuine collector and sentimental value far beyond a simple reproduction. Craig Ivor’s signature and the January 2015 date give this print important attribution and authentication. A low edition number of 71 from 500 makes this a particularly sought after impression. A deeply meaningful South African collector’s piece that will find a very appreciative new home. Sold as-is.
