Lot 49:
South African Hardwood Bedroom Furniture - Vintage Dressing Table (Believed to be made from Yellowwood & Imbuia ) | Swivelling Rectangular Mirror | 2-Drawer Desk | Turned Legs | Mirror Support Damaged
Description
A beautifully characterful vintage dressing table crafted from two of South Africa’s most beloved and prized indigenous hardwoods, Yellowwood and Imbuia, featuring a swivelling rectangular mirror above a two-drawer desk with elegantly turned legs. One of the mirror supports is currently damaged and taped, a minor repair that a competent woodworker could address straightforwardly, and this is reflected honestly in the starting price. The underlying piece is crafted from genuinely exceptional South African hardwood with the warm rich tones and quality of construction that Yellowwood and Imbuia furniture is celebrated for, and once the mirror support is properly repaired this dressing table will present as a truly lovely and valuable piece of South African heritage bedroom furniture. Yellowwood and Imbuia pieces of this quality and character are increasingly rare and consistently sought after at South African household auctions. Sold as-is, mirror support damaged, viewing strongly recommended.
